Alison Spittle is making the sitcom about the Midlands we never knew we needed
WE HAVE ENJOYED the comedy stylings of Alison Spittle for quite some time now (if you’re unfamiliar, listen to her episode of the wonderful Juvenalia podcast).
RTÉ RTÉ
She previously contributed to the late, great Republic of Telly, but now she’s created her own sitcom, Nowhere Fast – and it sounds pretty darn relatable, if you ask us.
Alison stars as Angela, a young woman who returns home to the Midlands after a disastrous attempt at a media career in Dublin.
According to the woman herself, viewers can expect “lots of drinking in fields and mates having meltdowns, with mammy at home to pick up the pieces”:
“Now it’s happening, I wake up some mornings and maybe ten minutes go by before I remember, hey, you’re making a TV show,” she said.
The six-part show is due to air on RTÉ in the Autumn. Can’t wait.
